Construction of new toilets at two schools at Ramanjeri and Pudhukandigai were sanctioned by Hyundai Glovis and these were meant to be completed by May. However there were inordinate delays because of labour problems for the contractor and because problems with water availability. The toilet construction at Ramanjeri is yet to start.

The construction at Pudhukandigai proceeded in fits and starts. A JCB was engaged to dig up the pit for laying the foundation in mid-Feb. However work stopped after that. It once again started towards the end of April. The foundation was laid, the pillars and the walls raised and finally the roof laid all by mid-May. The work has once again paused because of the same water and labour issues. We are hoping the work starts again soon in June.
