Computer Science Education Summit 2024-25
Asha Chennai is delighted to have been part of the Computer Science Education Summit 2024-25 from Feb 19-21! The event was organized by Amazon and LFE (Leadership for Equity) in partnership with Code.org.
The event was a deep dive into the future of AI in education, covering essential topics like Generative AI, Training Data, AI Literacy (Big 5 Ideas), and Bias in AI. A standout session on “Approach Localization” explored how AI principles can be adapted to different educational contexts.
Witnessing students showcase their AI-powered projects at the MH State Level Hackathon & Student Showcase was a true testament to the impact of AI in learning! A special mention to the organizers for a well-structured and insightful event! We are looking forward to applying these learnings and making AI education more accessible.
Beyond the summit, our team also took a cultural detour, visiting Aga Khan Palace, Chhatrapati Shivaji Road Ganesha Temple, and Lal Mahal—immersing themselves in Pune’s rich heritage.

Travel Date and Experience: I traveled to Pune on 18th Feb, 2025 along with Asha teacher Ms. Radha, Ms. Divya and Asha Volunteer Mr. Venkat for the Computer Science Education Summit 2024-25. The journey was smooth, and the travel arrangements were well-coordinated. We traveled by flight, which was comfortable and hassle-free.
Stay Arrangements: The accommodation at O Hotel Pune, Koregaon Park, was comfortable and well-facilitated. The hotel provided all necessary amenities, and the staff was hospitable. The location was convenient, making it easy to commute to the event venues.
Food Experience: The food throughout the event was exceptional, enhancing the overall experience.
• Breakfast: The hotel served a delicious and diverse breakfast spread, including fresh fruits, traditional Indian dishes, and continental options. It was a great start to the day.
• Lunch: The meals during the summit were well-balanced and flavorful, offering a mix of local Maharashtrian delicacies and international cuisine. The variety ensured that everyone found something to enjoy.
• Dinner: Dinners were a perfect end to the day, featuring a mix of traditional and modern flavors. Specialties like local street food options and rich, flavorful curries made the dining experience memorable.
Event Details and Experience: The Computer Science Education Summit 2024-25 took place from 19th to 21st February 2025. The event was meticulously organized and offered valuable insights into AI and its applications in education. Below is a breakdown of key sessions and learnings:
Day 1: 19th February 2025
• The day began with a warm welcome and opening remarks, setting the tone for the training workshop on Foundations of Generative AI.
• The sessions covered fundamental concepts, including Introduction to Generative AI, Input and Training Data, AI Literacy (Big 5 Ideas), and Bias in AI.
• The session on “Approach Localization” was particularly insightful in understanding how AI principles can be adapted to different educational contexts.
Day 2: 20th February 2025
• The focus shifted to the Localization of AI Tools for Education, with in-depth discussions on Embeddings, Language Localization, and Digital Footprints.
• The sessions on Neural Networks and Outputs & Probabilities provided a deeper understanding of AI functionalities.
• A Partner Showcase was organized to showcase the work related to Code.org done by the various organisations. The showcase was a vibrant hub of innovation, where NGOs exchanged groundbreaking ideas. We proudly presented our RTC projects, brief about ACE program, Karadipath, and tech-driven learning through OpenOffice Impress, Scratch, captivating the audience with engaging demonstrations. It was an inspiring opportunity to highlight our impact and learn from visionary organizations shaping the future of education.
Day 3: 21st February 2025
• The final day was held at the Amazon Office, featuring the MH State Level Hackathon and Student Showcase.
• It was inspiring to witness students demonstrating their AI-based projects, applying their learnings in real-world scenarios.
• The felicitation and prize distribution event acknowledged the students’ efforts and creativity, wrapping up the summit on a high note.
Networking with NGOs: During the summit, I had the opportunity to interact with representatives from several NGOs working in the education sector. I met teams from

7. Learning Links Foundation. Etc….
These interactions provided valuable insights into their initiatives and potential collaborations for improving education programs.
Sightseeing: While the primary focus was on the summit, there was an opportunity to explore Pune’s cultural and historical sites. I visited Aga Khan Palace, Chhatrapati Shivaji Road Ganesha Temple, and Lal Mahal, which provided a deep insight into Pune’s rich heritage. Additionally, I enjoyed shopping at Fashion Street, which offered a vibrant mix of local and trendy items.
Overall Feedback: The CS Summit was an enriching experience, offering deep insights into AI and its role in education. The sessions were informative, the discussions engaging, and the hands-on activities practical. The event was well-structured, and I appreciate the effort put into making it a successful and valuable learning opportunity.
I look forward to implementing the knowledge gained to enhance AI education within our teachers and students.
