On March – April 2019 : Asha is conducting excursions for 600 children from 19 Glovis supported schools over 3 days.Because of the changes in the school schedules because of the elections, we had to make lots of changes to the excursion schedule.
Asha is conducting excursions for 600 children from 19 Glovis supported schools over 3 days.Because of the changes in the school schedules because of the elections, we had to make lots of changes to the excursion schedule.
First excursion was on March 17th, the second one on March 27th and the third one on April 15th. Click on the dates below to see ths photos taken during the excursions.The list shows the list of schools that went on excursion on the given dates.
17th March: Thirupatchur, Old Thirupatchur, Kuppammal Chathiram, Gandhigram, Ramanjeri, Manjakuppam, and Thomur.
27th March: Kannigaiper, Annanagar, Ariyapakkam, Athivakkam and Thandalam.
15th April: Othappai, Ammambakkam, Katchur, Anandheri, Allikuzhi, Placepalayam, Gengulukandigai, Pudhukandigai
Glovis gave T-shirts, caps and a gift item (sports item worth about Rs 200) for each child. The gift item choices were,
- Cricket bat and ball.
- Shuttle cock racquet and 2 cocks.
- Tennicoit ring and skipping rope.
- Football.
- A board game set with which they can play 13 games.
Teachers accompanying the children were also given a gift item (handbag, watch or lunch box kit) for about Rs 1500.
The children were taken to Dakshina Chitra and Mahabalipuram. Here is the approximate schedule followed on each day.
6:30 to 7:00 am — Children board the buses at their schools. (3 busses each weekend).
7:00 am to 10:00 am — The children travel. They get a juice and biscuit pack during the travel.
10:00 am — Arrive at Dakshina Chitra and we distribute caps and TShirts to the children.
10:00 am to 12:45 pm — See Dakshina Chitra. They start with a cultural show.
1:00 pm — Lunch at Dakshina Chitra.
2:00 pm — Distribute materials to children and teachers.
2:45 pm — Leave for Mahabalipuram.
3:30 pm to 6:00 pm — See Mahabalipuram.
6:00 pm — Start back from Mahabalipuram..
9:00 pm — Return back to their villages.
All the three excursions were successfully conducted. The children and the teachers were very happy to have come on this excursion.
