Asha Chennai is a chapter of ‘Asha for Education’ based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is run entirely by a group of volunteers.
Asha for Education is a worldwide action group formed to catalyse socio-economic change in India through education of underprivileged children. ‘Asha’ means hope — the hope that we aim to bring into the lives of these children.

Volunteers support

Volunteers do all the operations of the chapter from identifying/supporting projects, developing software and contents, maintaining our accounts or our website etc.

    We support 100 government schools and improve the quality of the education. Learn more.

    Asha has developed Asha Kanini, a tool packaged with contents that can make technology aided classrooms effectively in delivering good quality education. In addition to the Asha Chennai supported primary and middle schools, it has been installed in 400+ govt schools and used by other partner organizations. Learn more.

    Asha has developed several variations of CS curriculum that are used in all our programs. Further we are training 105 govt teachers under the ACE program to teach computer science in their schools. Learn more.
