18th March — Batch-I

1st April — Batch-II

Children left their villages between 7:00 am and 8:00 am and reached Dakshina Chitra by about 10:40 am. They were given snacks on the way. We distributed caps for all the children. At Dakshina Chitra they had about two hours to see all the old houses maintained there. On April 1st they also had some time to play around in the play area there. Then they were served packed lunched from the nearby Sangeetha.

The March 18th batch also got to see a small magic and puppet show at Dakshina Chitra. We then distributed T-shirts and a game kit of their choice to all the children. The choices of game kits were cricket bat and ball, shuttle racquet and cock, business man board game, ludo board game or a nice chess set. After a couplle of group photos the children were taken to Mahabalipuram.

At Mahabalipuram they were taken to the 5-Rathas, Shore temple, Arjuna’s cave etc. Finally they also got to spend some time at the beach. Then they headed back to their villages. Once again some more snacks were given to the children on the way back. They finally reached their villages around 9:00 pm.

Talking to the children after the excursion, we could see how much they had enjoyed it. They could recollect all the small things that they enjoyed about the excursion even in the end of April. It was a joyous occasion for the children and all the adults who were escorting them as well!
